Foreign investors net sold VND 633.74B on HOSE on 30 October, with Vingroup (VIC) alone accounting for VND 353.68B of the outflow at a close of VND 241,000. VN-Index fell 0.8% to 1,741.62 and HNX-Index dropped 1.51% to 252.74, with materials and industrials leading declines while utilities rose.

Vietnamese stocks fell broadly with the VN-Index down 0.8% and VN30 down 1.18%, dragged by banking stocks where all 13 VN30 banks declined and 20 of 28 banks fell over 1%. Blue-chips VIC, VHM and GAS recovered to cushion the index, but breadth was weak with 253 decliners on HoSE and 100 stocks down more than 2%.

VN-Index fell sharply as liquidity dried up, with blue-chips like VIC and VHM dragging the index down nearly 14 points; foreign investors turned net sellers on HoSE.

Petro Times (HNX: PPT) closed at VND 6,600 after a fifth consecutive limit-down session spanning October 20-26, with the company issuing a written explanation to the exchange. The same session saw foreign investors and proprietary desks combine for roughly VND 825 billion in net selling, with foreign flow alone near USD 33 million negative.

Hòa Phát (HPG) was the single largest foreign net-buy on matched orders on 29/10, rising 2.17% and adding roughly 0.79 points to the VN-Index even as foreigners net sold VND 429.9B across the market. Steel was one of only a handful of sectors to close higher, with liquidity also picking up.

Petro Times (PPT) has fallen the maximum 56% across eight straight limit-down sessions to VND 6,600 after Q3/2026 swung to a VND 22.1B net loss from a VND 2.4B profit a year earlier, with revenue down 9.4%. The company attributes the slide to supply-demand dynamics, but the trigger is clear: a VND 19.7B loss on land transfers at Tràng Duệ and a VND 5.2B loss on exiting a 49% energy stake.

Securities firms' proprietary trading desks net sold 286 billion VND on HoSE on October 29, led by TCB (-89 billion VND), while foreign investors net sold 430 billion VND market-wide. VN-Index fell 11.04 points (-0.62%) to 1,755.61.

PVT, PVP and PPT all closed limit-down on 29 October after PVT ran up nearly 60% between late July and early October, part of a sector-wide profit-taking wave that pulled the VN-Index down 0.62% to 1,755.61. Foreign investors sold a net VND 430 billion and only 97 HoSE names advanced against 215 decliners.

PVT closed limit-down at 21,300 VND with more than 21 million shares traded as Brent slipped nearly 1% to $114 a barrel and investors digested news that the State will retain 100% ownership of Petrovietnam. GAS and BSR were among the ten heaviest drags on the VN-Index, which fell more than 11 points to 1,755, while foreign investors net sold over VND 450 billion for a fifth straight session.

VN-Index fell 0.62% as mid- and small-cap stocks dropped sharply amid weak afternoon liquidity, with HoSE matching value down 23% versus the morning session. Foreign investors turned net buyers of about 149.6 billion VND on HoSE, though FPT, TCB, SSI and VHM saw net selling.
