Proprietary trading desks at securities companies net bought 460 billion VND on HOSE on July 22, when VN-Index fell 62 points. Techcombank (TCB) was the most bought stock at 235 billion VND, while foreign investors net sold 1,921 billion VND across the market.

KAF reported Q2 2026 pre-tax profit of VND 272B (+405% YoY) and H1 profit of VND 370B (+155%), driven by proprietary trading and margin lending. The company also disclosed increased holdings in VIC and FPT, with a VND 12.6B unrealized gain on VIC.

ACB Securities (ACBS) posted Q2 2026 pretax profit of VND 299B (+30% YoY), while VIX Securities saw a 95% profit collapse to VND 75B. The divergence highlights margin expansion at ACBS versus sharp reversals at VIX, with 32 firms now reported.

FPT reported H1 2026 revenue of VND 26,269B (+12.6%) and pre-tax profit of VND 5,714B (+18.1%), driven by AI & Data Analytics revenue surging 54%. Its two AI Factories in Vietnam and Japan achieved over 90% utilization and turned profitable in Q2, yet the stock fell to a 2-year low of VND 67,000, reflecting market skepticism about valuation or growth sustainability.

Foreign investors net sold VND 2,080 billion (USD 83.2M) across Vietnam's market last week, with FPT being the most sold stock at VND 606 billion, while VNM led net buying at VND 328 billion. The sell-off contributed to a 40-point drop in the VN-Index, which closed at 1,787.45.

STB was the most sold stock by proprietary trading desks on July 17, with net selling of VND 78 billion, as part of a broader VND 479 billion sell-off by proprietary desks on HOSE. Foreign investors also net sold approximately VND 690 billion across the market, adding to selling pressure on Vietnamese equities.
