Foreign investors net sold nearly VND 1,921 billion (USD 76.8 million) on July 22, contributing to a 62-point drop in the VN-Index below 1,700. SSI, VIC, and VCB were the most sold, while VNM, HPG, and GEE were net bought. The sell-off underscores persistent foreign outflow pressure on blue chips.

Nearly 70 state-owned enterprises, including major tickers like BID, VCB, GAS, ACV, and BSR, face delisting by January 1, 2027 if they fail to meet shareholder structure requirements. The State Securities Commission views this as a necessary screening process to support Vietnam's market upgrade to emerging market status, which could attract significant foreign capital.

MWG (Mobile World Group) attracted the largest net foreign buying of VND 206 billion on July 20, even as the VN-Index dropped 44 points and foreign investors overall net sold VND 86 billion across the market. The buying interest in MWG contrasts with heavy net selling in VCB, STB, and VPB, suggesting selective foreign allocation toward retail amid the broad sell-off.

Foreign investors net bought nearly VND 1,400 billion on HoSE on July 10, driven by a massive VND 1,600 billion purchase in VIC. Excluding VIC, the group still net sold hundreds of billions. Net selling was seen on HNX and net buying on UPCoM.

ACV appointed Nguyen Cao Cuong as Chairman at its June 19 AGM, filling a vacancy since March. The company approved a 2024 plan with pre-tax profit of VND 7,011 billion, down 54% from 2023, as peak spending on the Long Thanh airport project drives higher depreciation and financing costs. The new leadership faces the challenge of managing a record investment phase while shareholder dividends remain suspended until at least 2027.
